Basis of the Blog

This blog is an extension of Candid Captures. The intent, depending on the day, may be one of several different things. There will likely be entries directly related to a specific event that I was hired for, yet, there may be many entries just related to my personal photography or the equipment I use.

Hopefully there may be something here of interest to you and will peak your interest to check back every once in a while.

As I have written before, this year was the year I really for the first time "toyed" with macro photography. Mostly because I received a macro lens as a gift.

Now let me just say, I had noooo idea just how complicated and precise the technique is in order to get good quality macro shots. From having to get close, to selecting the appropriate aperture, all with in seconds (if you are lucky) of your subject just taking off on ya.

So on this shot, the fact that I was leaning over a fence with both arms extended, squinting my eyes so as to see the viewfinder now 2.5 feet away from my face so as to be able to see if the little red square was lit up indicating I had focus lock.

Yup, just another lucky shot...
