This photo has a story.... It's starts with Edyta and I heading out for a stroll one evening in Paris. We had already covered a lot of ground, mostly main streets , over the previous days. This time though, we decided to venture down some side streets. Sure seemed like a great idea. Actually, it's the side streets that have all the action, and that's exactly what we were looking for! Well on a walk down this very street about 45 minutes before, we walked the full lenght of the street and while doing so, passed by a lone suitcase leaning against a building. Edyta joked, saying the suit case was in better shape than my son Ryans and suggested "lets take it".. I QUICKLY grasp her arm, pull her close and with a stern voice say "you DON"T touch stray suitcases in alleys in Paris"... I think i got my point across. so I thought... After walking and doing a turn around to narrow in on a cool bar to get a drink at, sure enough, we pass the suitcase again.. Again, she jokes while making a quick move toward it.. again, i pull her back.. Of course, she was joking with me at this point.. We laugh. Just past that suit case, we find a nice little bar and settle in for a drink. Shortly after a police van pulls down the street, slowly... you see where this is going, right?

For a few years, I had the opportunity to shoot some NASCAR. A standard technique when shooting a race is to pan a shot. Meaning, obtain focus and move the came at the same relative speed as the subject. This blurs the background while making it appear that the subject is in relative focus..... Figured i would dig up this techniqe for the scooters.. Quite frankly, watching them buzz around Paris was VERY similiar to NASCAR. #scooter #paris #panning
