Unlike a cruise, when you stay at a resort, each day it seems you are saying “goodbye” and “hello” to entire groups of people. We got to know this bunch of folks pretty well over the course of our stay.. One thing is for sure, they sure do take WaterPolo seriously!! :) #iberostarrosehallsuites #iberostarmontegobay #jamaica
After 6 days of hanging at the pool, it was time to go for a walk outside of the resort. Honestly, I don’t totally understand why more people don’t do this in Jamaica. Regardless, we were determined to do so. After walking about a mile, we met a man, Otis, who drives a bus for Margarittaville, who was stopped along the side of the road. We found the bus to be so cool and I asked if i could take picture of the inside. Here it is... There will be more said about Otis as I asked what his dinner plans were and we made arrangements to spend it all together along with his son..

You have heard of “street vendor”, well, this is the resort equivalent..... At first, I didn’t know what to make of this, strategically located vendors selling their locally made carvings and jewelry (and in many cases, locally grown).. Honestly, it made not only for some great photography, these men & women were incredibly friendly, polite & respectful. Although they are diligent in letting you know there are there (they shake rattles), they never pressure you if you just you are “all set”. But it is worth stopping by and talking to them, it just adds to your vacation memories. #iberostarmontegobay #iberostarrosehallsuites #jamaica
One can only take so much of controlled circumstances. Although staying on a resort and having your every need taken care of is great, there is just no way to get the feel for a destination unless you venture out. So, yesterday, we got up and walked to the gates of the resort and asked to be let out. We walked for over a mile ended up meeting Otis.. I’m going to save the story about Otis for much more detailed post. Let me just say, it was not your average experience, but it will be one of the most memorable of our trip! Today, just as we were leaving the pool for the day, we came across these three. Edyta decided to stop and have a chat with them. At first, i detected they thought she was a bit “nuts”. But in the end, we had plans to meet up later for the disco... Turns out they are on a layover with @congaairlines.... Nice job!! #iberostarmontegobay

Today was a very physical one, starting out with the Beach Olympics. This consisted of a two team and three activities event. The last of the three was basically a form of flag football. Each team is lined up opposite each other and each member of the team is assigned a number. . A ref hold a flag.. when the number is called, the each member on the team with that number must run to the flag to try and retrieve and return to his line with out being tagged... Not so sure why, but these two were either running so fast they neede to slow down OR they were running in reverse.. :)

We met “Papa John”, as he likes to be called , after walking up to his table as we left dinner. I noticed him when he came in and was directed to his table. He ate alone. As we walked out, I introduced myself and offered that if he sees us again, expect and invite to our table. Later that night we got a chance to chat more. His wife died last year and this was a regular trip for them. He said he could not imagine not coming here after so many years of doing so with his wife..... I look forward to talking more with John.. #jamaica #iberostarmontegobay

Over breakfast, we were trying to figure out how it was possible that we won the Couples contest... Ok, so we did ok, BUT, we actually think that since we literally got to know dozens of people in the first 2 days and they were all in the audience, we had a strong vote. :).
